History

It began in 1998

Founding year
1998
getunik AG began modestly: Four friends - Lukas, Marco, Renato (with parrot Bolivar) and Alex - were tinkering away in Renato's children's room. They experimented with their first software solutions and brainstormed ideas for digital projects. The first orders came from ETH Zurich. A lot of passion, little space - but the start of a great journey.
First major NGO client
2004
For WWF International, we were able to program our own CMS for global use in the WWF network. This was both the starting point of a long-term collaboration with WWF and the birth of our own CMS, which was to be used by many other NGOs.
Top app placement
2010
Our first app, based on the printed WWF guide to sustainable fish consumption, was a complete success: it made it straight into the top ten of the Apple App Store. With it, we set a strong example for environmental awareness and digital innovation.
Best of Swiss Web Award
2015
We developed an innovative donation portal for WWF Switzerland that set new industry standards with features such as the box for selecting the amount and specific landing pages and checkout processes. The solution was convincing across the board - and won gold at the Best of Swiss Web Awards.
First marketing automation projects
2017
We realized that a successful digital presence requires more than just a website. That's why we expanded our offering to include strategic consulting in digital fundraising - and successfully implemented our first marketing automation projects.
Foundation of getunik GmbH in Berlin
2018
getunik GmbH is founded by Eva Hieninger in Berlin. From the very beginning, the focus is on close cooperation with non-profit organizations in order to create tailor-made, sustainable solutions.

2017
getunik becomes an official Salesforce partner for non-profits, strengthening its position as a leading provider of digital solutions for social organizations. This partnership enables us to respond even more specifically to the needs of non-profit projects.
